Robotic Materials offers the first industrial tactile sensing solution that combines proximity, contact and force sensing into a form factor similar to that to conventional, passive gripper pads.

With setup time of a few minutes, the gripper pads seamlessly integrate into the Universal Robotics control software, providing the user with raw values for proximity, contact detection, and pressure values.

Proximity sensing can be used to detect objects lying or standing on a table, augmenting – and often replacing – more expensive 2D and 3D vision systems that require extensive programming and are susceptive to lightning conditions.

Currently available for the RobotiQ gripper series and the Universal Robot, the kit contains everything to get you started in less than 15 minutes.
