Robotic Materials is providing a growing number of applications as plug-in for the popular Universal Robot series (“URCap”). The software can be installed from a USB stick and can be exclusively configured from the Universal Robot pendent. The tutorial below shows the installation process and how to program a simple pick-and-place operation using PolyScope.
The URCap is available for both the original Universal Robot as well as the new e-Series. The example below (Polyscope 5.3/e-Eseries) shows a simple program that retrieves the pose of a generic object underneath the gripper, sets the gripper to an appropriate width, moves to an approach point and finally to the target grasp pose.
